Your ACNH Villager Can Be Bougie, Too.

Legendary luxury brands Marc Jacobs and Valentino are releasing in-game Animal Crossing outfits based off their respective S/S and F/W 2020 collections.

Marc Jacobs took to Instagram a few weeks ago to announce the virtual collaboration between the American designer and Animal Crossing. We never knew we needed until now. (Instagram/Marc Jacobs).

Okay, fine, I'll admit it: I gave into the Animal Crossing: New Horizons hype and bought myself a Nintendo Switch a week after its initial March release.

Maybe it was the nostalgia of growing up with the Sims and spending 4 hours choosing an outfit for my character, but out of the 120+ hours of game time I've invested into Animal Crossing, half of that is at the Able Sisters' shop.

So when Valentino and Marc Jacobs announced that they would be releasing clothing for villagers in the game, I knew this is what dreams were made of.

While online communities dedicated to replicating designer pieces in the game have flourished since ACNH's release, the two luxury labels are stepping into the virtual world with their own versions of their respective S/S and F/W 2020 garments.

While Marc Jacobs dropped six pieces for ACNH users, luxury Italian fashion house Valentino dropped 20. With help from fashion photographer Kara Chung, the brand showcased a virtual photoshoot featuring all outfits users can download. (Yup, you read that right.)

Both brands teamed up with Animal Crossing Fashion Archive, an Instagram account dedicated to showing users how to step up your #OOTD while trying to sell those turnips.

While the fashion world seemingly comes to a halt in the midst of COVID-19, we're all for expressing ourselves with beautiful (and technically sustainable!) clothes through a portable gaming system.

If you can't beat them, join them, right?

Six Marc Jacobs pieces are available for download via codes posted on the designer's Instagram Story (Instagram/Marc Jacobs).
