How Will We Handle COVID?

In order to be as transparent as possible, we’re releasing our COVID-19 safety measures, precautions and implementation guide.

Since March, we’ve seen the world hunker down and pull the covers over their heads as the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps across the globe.

Once the country shut down, we’ve been working harder than ever to produce incredible original content for our newfound staff members and audience. While we’ve exponentially expanded our reach, we’ve also brought on nearly 40 smiling faces who work tirelessly to make the magic happen.

For the past three months, our entire team has worked remotely in preparation for our mid-fall launch. I can’t begin to describe how proud I am of our incredible staff who work tirelessly to bring our dreams into fruition.

While most things can be done remotely — writing, graphics, marketing, social media and advertising –– our photography team relies heavily on in-person production for their visual stories. Rowdy’s visual productions have always been the magnum opus of our publication and our audience always eagerly waits for the moment they open up our magazine and get lost in our photoshoots.

Like many of you, the Rowdy team naively thought that our government would have controlled the pandemic by now, keeping out hope to resume our in-person operations once the fall semester began.

However, that hasn’t been the case. In Florida especially, we’ve only seen case numbers exponentially increase, leaving us in the dark as to what happens next.

After many discussions with the priority of our staff and freelancers' health in mind, we’ve decided to move forward with our in-person photoshoot production with extreme caution. After consulting with health guidelines, as well as medical professionals, we’ve created an extremely rigorous standard to make sure we’re keeping everyone safe.

In order to be as transparent as possible, we’re releasing our COVID-19 safety measures, precautions and implementation guide. The health of our staff, models, photographers and other freelancers is of the utmost importance to us, and we are deliberately taking every effort possible to ensure their safety without completely limiting our production capabilities.

Aside from mandatory testing, pre-screening forms, implementing contact tracing, consent and risk waivers; our staff, models, photographers, and on-set freelancers will be subject to the following guidelines to ensure as little transmission risk as possible.

As the situation evolves, the week before our photoshoots, we’ll re-examine the severity of the pandemic and reassess moving forward.

Although our team has done thorough research into CDC and WHO guidelines, we aren’t doctors. We earnestly welcome any recommendations or guidance from licensed professionals. Thank you again for supporting us and our mission. We have so many awesome things planned, and we can’t wait for you all to see it over the next few months.

Love,

Team Rowdy
