With this pandemic dragging on for seemingly ever, there's a lot of questions on whether or not Halloween is still a thing this year. As a crazy Halloween lover, I am here to tell you it is, as long as you do it in a safe way. Trust me, you can incorporate your masks into your costume and still look cute. Or, you could simply just grab your fits, take your baddie Insta pics and feast away on Halloween candy classics with your trusted inner circle.
With affirmation that Halloween can still go on, however, you're probably feeling the usual panic of what the hell to make your costume.
Luckily, I am here to help. It’s always hard to determine what you are going to be for Halloween. I decided months ago, but that’s just me. It’s really fun to plan out your costume with your friends and it’s a halloweekend, you can do all four of these looks if you’re really feeling it.
Money Heist
Money Heist is a really intense crime show created by Netflix about a group of runaway felons who decided to put on a huge heist of the most precise banks in Spain. It’s two seasons and I’m not going to lie, I binged the entire thing in two days. These costumes are super simple. All you need is a red jumpsuit, a black top, and the signature Money Heist mask that they sell at Spirit Halloween.
Euphoria
Euphoria is still a costume you and your friends can do and look hot doing it. Since we aren't getting a season two until 2022 #RIP, we have to support our Emmy winning queen Zendaya by dressing up as her. You can dress up as the character’s iconic Halloween costumes from Episode six or just dress up as the iconic characters themselves. For Maddy, you can buy her unforgettable carnival set on I.AM.GIA. For Rue, you can just go comfy with a big burgundy hoodie. Slap on some glitter that you won’t be able to get off in the morning and then you’re set!
Scooby Doo
Let’s give it up for Scooby-Doo shaping our childhood! Scooby-Doo is spooky and fun! That way, you can incorporate your fellas in this group costume. You and your bestie can be Velma and Daphne, you two can fight about who gets to be who. Shaggy can be your stoner friend while Fred is the mom of the group. Maybe force the family dog to be Scooby, maybe even Scrappy if the dog is vicious.
Among Us
If you're anything like me, the game Among Us has taken over my life. I find myself playing it for at least an hour a day, maybe more if I'm playing with friends. Since you’re already playing it with your friends, why not dress up as your favorite color character? If you’re feeling a little extra quirky, add anything from a banana peel, plant or a Santa hat for some extra personality.
Bonus points: this costume can keep you safe and COVID-free because we are still in a #pandemic.
And if all else fails...
Slap on some green wigs and tint yourself a classic Cheeto-hued orange. You can all be your Oompa Loompas and get your acapella on. Plus, no one can deny you candy when you tell them that you work for the the ultimate chocolate factory.
Halloween can still be fun this year. We can make the best of this crazy year by dressing up with friends and having a fun night safely. Go get your spook on!
