I first came across the brand Jules Diary a couple months ago on Tik Tok after seeing an influencer that I followed unboxing a package from the store. It was an unboxing video, so like any other girl my age, I was immediately intrigued. However, I didn’t expect to see some of the coolest jewelry pieces I had ever seen in my life. Since then, I’ve been obsessed.

Jules Diary was founded back in March of 2024 by Julie Pevarnik (@juliepevarnik) a 22-year-old Pittsburgh native. Prior to Jules Diary, Julie had developed numerous creative ideas while in college including a streetwear brand called “Jules n Friends.”

She detailed, “Even though that project never launched, it sparked my interest in design and ultimately led me to transfer schools to study it more seriously.”

Later, in October 2023, she watched a YouTube video of a girl sharing her jewelry collection and it all clicked for her. She explained how she has always been obsessed with finding unique jewelry and how important accessories are to her.

“I knew I had an eye for it, so I decided to start a jewelry brand. It almost felt funny at the time because I just couldn’t let go of this dream of creating a brand. No matter how many times I tried, I always came back to it,” Julie said.

In regards to the name of the brand, she knew that she wanted to incorporate her nickname “Jules” into it because it was a perfect play on the word “jewels.”

She explained how Victoria’s Secret and its mysterious and layered nature inspired her vision for Jules Diary.

“...it felt like a story about this girl named Jules, her world, and her secrets. I even wrote out a whole narrative about who she is,” Julie stated, “She is my alter-ego, but cooler.”

Julie’s vision for Jules Diary is unlike any other as she ensures that the brand stands out among others.

“I’ve never connected with anything too polished or sterile,” Julie stated. “I want everything I create to feel real, expressive, and a little rebellious.”

This is evident in her various pieces of jewelry that she has designed thus far. While her hand chains are her most popular accessory, she also has various hoop earrings, rings, hand cuffs, anklets, and more.

Another unique way that she allows her iconic vision for the brand to come to life is through photoshoots. She mentioned how fun it is for her and that her photographer helps her ideas thrive.

“I met my photographer, Stow Kelly, earlier this year, and he’s opened so many creative doors and opportunities for me. We both share the same drive to keep pushing boundaries and experimenting.”

When asked about the evolution of Jules Diary, Julie explained that the brand initially started with just three necklaces and a pair of earrings. Then, in December 2024, she got a package at her door of hand chains that she had completely forgotten about and almost didn’t put them on her website.

However, this hand chain, Triple Crossed, is now her best seller. She mentioned how she posted a few pictures of them and the response from her following was insane.

This iconic drop ultimately led Julie to continuously release different hand chains with unique styles including Frankie Teddy, Rosaline, and Godspeed.

“It took me a while to understand why, but when I did, I ended up running with it, and now hand chains are like the core of Jules Diary. Everything really does happen for a reason.”

Although the Triple Crossed hand chain is her best-selling item, I wanted to know what Julie’s personal favorite piece is.

She stated, “I think my favorite jewelry pieces change all the time and some of my favorites never get produced, but the Godspeed hand chain is my favorite that is out so far.”

She further explained how much she loves intricate filigree and that the Godspeed hand chain is the first of many pieces to come with that style.

As there has been a recent emergence of female-owned businesses, especially in the fashion industry, I asked Julie what this means to her. She said, “I honestly forget sometimes that Jules Diary is technically a female-owned business because I’ve never viewed that as a limitation or a challenge. Women are so capable and creative and often not given enough credit for it.”

To the women out there reading this who may be hesitant to start their own business, don’t be afraid to put yourselves out there.

Julie mentioned, “Reinventing yourself is such a superpower, and taking control of your path is one of the best things you can do for yourself.”

In terms of the future of Jules Diary, Julie is eager to create other pieces while expanding into other areas of accessories. She said, “...as my taste evolves and I am understanding more on what I like and why I like it…I want to expand to many areas.”

She further hinted at what’s to come in the spring.

“I am currently working on the first Jules bags that are set to be ready this coming spring. I am really excited about that and the team collaborating on the bag are so incredibly talented.”

It’s safe to say that Julie Pevarnik is the ultimate cool girl with the coolest jewels. Through her unique and niche pieces, she has allowed various individuals to express themselves stylistically.

Jules Diary is here to stay and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2026.
