Alazne Cameron is in her fourth year as a student at the University of Florida. She is majoring in English and Political Science and minoring in French, therefore she’s glad Rowdy hired her since her mother was getting worried no one else ever would. She was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica so she's drawn to writing depicting experiences of immigration and journey-driven narratives. However, her time in the United States as a student has left her “within and without, simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life”, but in a world that feels a bit less glamorous than F. Scott Fitzgerald penned it.
Her immersion into two distinct cultures has fueled an interest in comparing and contrasting cultural phenomena and has driven a passion for activism and advocacy. She hopes to use these passions to pepper awareness into readers.
Alazne loves food-based metaphors, alliteration and social justice. Her favorite food is food for thought (but anything with a cheesy, creamy Alfredo base is a close second).
