Editor's Letter: It's All Worth It.

Hi, Rowdynators.

(Is calling you guys that weird?)

Live from my bedroom at 3 o'clock in the morning, it's your new Editor-in-chief.

This is my first *official* letter from the editor, so I better introduce myself properly.

My name is Ana, but you may know me as the girl who made the TikTok (yes, that one), the person who's always commenting on every Instagram post or the freshman who joined Rowdy nearly two years ago and got her world turned upside-down.

I've wheeled many carts as a Marketing Team member, scheduled way too many Harry Styles posts as a Social Media Director, profusely panicked as an Assistant Creative Director and written countless to-do lists as an Editor-in-chief.

Are you tired from thinking about all that? I am.

But all the stress in the world is worth it to create something magical.

Nothing tops the feeling of holding a bound book in your hands or looking up to see hundreds of heads at a party for something you helped create. All the sleepless nights, frustration cries and many, many Advils are all just growing pains we endure to make the Rowdy you've all known to love.

Being a part of this publication has changed my life in more ways than one. Yes, it's a great conversation starter and looks incredible on a resume, but it's so much more than that. I don't think I've ever found something as meaningful as this small, but mighty, media company thats fighting for something so much bigger than anything we could ever dream of.

Over the last year and a half, we've cried together, laughed together and bought a toilet together (seriously.)

Team Rowdy has become my second family, and I'm writing this to let you know that it can be yours, too.

On May 18th, our applications for our upcoming issue, Vol. IV, are going live.

Those on the team will tell you theres two highs that come with being apart of Rowdy: release week and the day our applications open. To see so many talented, creative and passionate people want to be part of something we started in a library basement is absolutely overwhelming, to say the least. It reminds us that, hey, we may be onto something here...

From the bottom of my heart, if you're reading this, I encourage you to apply. Rowdy has something to offer for everyone. You don't have to have experience, but we do ask that you come with a big head full of seemingly-impossible ideas that, as a team, we can work to turn into reality.

We can't wait to meet you.

Love always,

Ana Escalante
